For the first 5 years of the affordable care act, N.C. 142,000 children (under 19) are uninsured in North Carolina, a 9 percent increase since 2018. North Carolina's uninsured rate of 11.3 percent in 2019 was still well above the national rate of 9.2 percent due to the failure to expand Medicaid in the state. Both the house and senate have failed to deliver ACCESS to healthcare. Despite Governor Cooper's best efforts to expand Medicaid in the state of N.C. I'm an advocate and for deliver, healthcare is a human right. We believe that these best illustrate why a candidate is running and what they hope to achieve in office.
